On January 18th, I was offered a new position with my company. The opportunity of a lifetime came to me at the most perfect time in my life. As a newly single 30-something female I am the perfect candidate for this traveling position. I was hired to be a part of the Jenny Craig Sonic Ground Team. And when I say Sonic, I don't mean the burger joint. What is SONIC? Well let me remind you again, It has nothing to do with the popular Drive-In commercials that you always see on TV, but then the closest location to you is four states away? Sonic is Systems Offering the Next-generation Innovation for our Clients . And, If that last sentence made you want to hit the X in the upper right hand corner, GOOD. I promise that's the last mumbo-jumbo technical information you're going to get out of me! And to put it much simpler, Sonic is the new computer system being implemented . My job is to travel to a new center location weekly throughout North America to help each staff as a Support with the new roll-out. So a new city each week and a chance to see the world and meet new people seemed like an amazing way to find my place in the world.

San Francisco to Antioch
My first deployment started off without a flaw. A car service with an actual car is always a plus. Not to mention, no delays, a seat next to two of my favorite coworkers, and a sunshine landing an hour ahead of schedule. The drive from San Francisco International Airport to my "hotel", I use the word hotel loosely, was a beautiful drive across the Bay. Then I reached my destination of Antioch. Let's just say if I ever tell you I want to move to CA, it won't be in Antioch. A rural city with a country twist. Beth Ann checked me in and in her country twang was thrilled that I was also, Beth Ann and was checking in on her birthday no less. Wow, I don't think much happens here in Antioch. Then I walked "outside" to my room. This was no Hotel this was a sketchy Motel with an ancient microwave older then me to say the least. So Kelly, my partner in crime, and I decided to explore the city, well I guess you could call it a city. We ended up at a dive bar on the river. I can not put into words the company we were surrounded with. Let's just say that the bomb-shell cut-out had more personality then any of them. Laughter has gotten us through the first day of this adventure and I am sure it will get me through many more.....

Santa Barbara
I decided to drive from Carlsbad to Santa Barbara for the weekend. The drive was picturesque, despite the traffic through LA & Hollywood. It was an amazing place with amazing friends. I felt like a rich Hollywood star while having drinks at The Biltmore. (Yes, the Kardashian sisters recently vacationed there) I had the most heavenly cupcake my lips ever touched. If you are ever in the area go to Whodidily Cupcakes in Montecito. We then had to go down to the beach to walk off our cupcake. We became the paparazzi in front of Ty Warner's house. He is the founder of Ty, Inc. You know, the company that distributes the Beanie Babies. Let's just say his house isn't small. Overall, Santa Barbara rates high on my lists of vacation spots, but just make sure you bring your trust fund money. This place caters to the riches.
