I don't think I will be seeing you anytime soon! I had over four hours to kill before heading to the airport. So I decided to venture on the MI Wine Trail. Are you starting to see a trend here? If it's a Vineyard or a Baseball game I will be there. The Vineyards were highly disappointing. St Julian, the oldest vineyard in MI was also located on a very busy street corner. Right next door was Warner Vineyard. I enjoyed the employees, who were knowledgeable and helpful. Yet, it was more of a wine cellar and even the grapes were over 50 miles away. I had to visit Peterson and Sons Natural Wines, Michigan's First Winery to Produce Wines With No Sulfites. I had heard the owner was known as the Wine NAZI, and boy did he live up to his name. Not only was he rude and blunt. He made you taste the wine his way or leave. Yikes, this is no Santa Rosa, CA. So after my encounter with the Wine Nazi, I still had a couple of hours to kill, and since the Kalamazoo Airport is so tiny suggested time is only 20-30 minutes to arrive before departure. I decided to go to the Air Zoo. I know very random and if I had a three-year old or an obsession with Aviation, it might make more sense. If you are looking to pick up a soldier this is were you will find them. So after subjecting myself to many odd stares at the Air Zoo, I guess 30-year old single females do not frequent the "zoo" often, I headed to the airport. Have you ever seen the show WINGS? The show was based on a small airport in Nantucket, and basically there was only four employees that did every job. Yup, this was the Kalamazoo Airport. The same guy checked me in at the Delta booth, checked my bag through the X-ray at Security, and then I saw him loading my suitcase onto the plane. Hilarious, I think I was the only one on the plane that realized this. Boy, was I ready to get home.
