Beth aka McGuyver aka Bored out of my mind....

July 5th, 2010
I told you once before that in life we must grab life by the horns and not let it pass us by....Well for the first time in all my deployments (and no I'm not in the Army that's what we call our travels, you should know this by now Followers.) I was in my hotel room by 9pm Three nights in a row this week. And Life passing me by? Ummm, No, not so much going in Joplin, so I don't think I'm missing out on anything. Honestly, if the guy of my dreams was out in Joplin tonight well he will have to get on a plane and go to CT or anywhere with civilization and a skyscraper to find me. So tonight after my 13 hour day in the "car lot" I went to the gas station/convenient store (not sure about the name) and bought a bottle of wine. Hey, don't judge me in CT we can't buy a bottle of wine in any place but a Package store and especially not after 8pm. I must take advantage of these "opportunities" when presented to me. And don't worry they didn't have only Boone's Farms. So after my long day, I arrived back to the hotel and went straight to the front desk for a corkscrew. No, I don't travel with my own give me some credit here. The lady looked distressed and didn't want to tell me they didn't have one. She even rummaged through her purse and said; "Hey, you never know I may have mine in here" Nope, no such luck. I disgruntly stormed up to my room. No, I'm kidding. I'm creative remember? (The Cork Wreath, last photo from bottom, is proof of that. I made this and it currently hangs at my favorite vineyard, Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, CT. Thanks, Scooter for the photo! http://www.gouveiavineyards.com/) No, I didn't make a wreath but I changed my name to McGuyver for the night and used my Tweezers, my Car Keys and a Pen and successfully opened up the bottle of Merlot without a piece of cork in the bottle. Yeah, a whole lot of time on my hands this week.....You must check out this video sent to me from a friend on his suggestion of what I could have done to open the wine....

I know you normally don't click on my hyperlinks, but I promise you you won't regret it. This is amazing! I just don't think my outcome would result in a successful uncorked bottle, but more of a broken bottle and a Merlot-stained carpet and stiletto.
