Joplin, Missouri

August 3rd, 2010- August 7th, 2010

 Joplin, Missouri is my second Franchise Centre, and boy did I have some laughs with these ladies. The Centre consisted of only THREE employees whose theme was above and beyond any centre I have been to yet. The theme, which I did question, was Used Car Lot...the ladies informed me it was "Getting rid of the old and in with the new"..aka the new computer system; SONIC! Their decorations actually made clientele stop before entering and question if they were entering Jenny Craig. Our attire required a Tie. Let's just say I told many people that I had mixed feelings about my uniform this week. I am a sucker for a man in a tie, but as a woman in a tie I felt a little a bit like Ellen DeGeneras minus her rythym. (Sara, I already told you I love Ellen and also let me just add my excitement on Wednesday when a federal judge struck down California's Proposition 8, which banned marriage between gay couples: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129008765 ) Yet, I did enjoy matching my shoes to my tie! Although, it would have been better if it wasn't 104 degrees @ 7am. Ok all you men I empathize with you wearing a tie in the summer, but fashion hurts sometimes and try putting on a pair of heels for 5 minutes. Like I said I had mixed feelings. Oh we also, no PUN INTENDED all enjoyed Happy Hour per Sonic (The Fast Food joint that is), which included 1$ 44oz Diet Sodas. Come on people it wasn't that kind of Happy Hour but the caffeine did help us through our 12hr day.
