Off to Seattle...Is it Raining?
Have you ever flown Jet-Blue? Wow, the terminal is like the Saks or Nordstrom of your local mall. High class, high amenities, the works to say the least. I walked to my gate and I was in a great mood. Probably because I had won a bet,a 6-pack of Corona from my Town-Car driver. GO RED SOX...Sorry Yankee fans. Shh, I know you the won the next two games. But let's just pretend this entry was written on April 5th before the next two games :) I ran into one of my fellow Sonic-ground team members & friends, Clare in the terminal. She was so overwhelmed because she just got married the weekend before and had to leave her husband for the first time. We boarded the plane and knew we were in the same aisle but on each opposite window seats. However, we were willing to give up one window seat, which is like front row at the Opera to someone, in order to sit next to each other. When we got to row 24, we tried to explain this to the three people sitting in our row. I noticed that the gentleman sitting in the aisle seat 24H weighed over 475lbs. I immediatedily became nervous for him. Push comes to shove, I didn't want this poor gentleman to have to keep getting up and then sitting down and causing attention to be drawn to him due to his weight. Working in the nutrition field and being so intrigued by weight and nutrition has allowed me to put myself in other peoples shoes. Let me just tell you, and Clare if you're reading this you can vouge for me, this man was the most personable, friendliest, non-creepy and funny guy I have ever had the pleasure to sit next to on a plane. When I say non-creepy, you know what I mean. You know that person that keeps persisting to ask you questions even though they know it's a red-eye flight and your eyes are closed. This guy was nothing like that, but he went out of his way to situate the couple on the other side of row 24, who were not so friendly, in order to get Clare and I seated next to each other. Seriously people, DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!! Oh and for the record...it wasn't raining when we landed. I would tell you the truth that it rained/snowed/sleeted the next two days...but remember this entry was written on April 5th, not in present tense. Always remember that your actions, your words, and your feelings affect each and everyone around you. You should never pass judgement on others until you give them a chance to show you who they really are inside. I will say it again in a different context; Character is what you are in the dark, never judge a book by it's cover and look at the glass half full...not with Rain, that is....
