Believe in KARMA.....

07/03/2010
I never wake up on Saturdays thinking; "Thank God, it's time to go home!" The funny thing is yes, I miss my own bed, but I am so appreciative of these new places, people, and adventures, that I am never in a rush to get home. This week as always came with a little bit of a Beth Blunder....So fifteen minutes before my departure from the center for the week I got a call from my Stepmother, Mary Beth, who lives in New Hampshire. The conversation went as follows; She asked me if I had been to the Charthouse in Annapolis on Friday night? Well my first thought was she was checking up on me on good ole' Facebook. :) Then she proceeded to tell me that she just received a phone call from a young guy named, Michael, who apparently found my license on the dock near the water taxi. I immediately panicked thinking now what would I have done if I had gone to check-in at the airport with no license?! Let's just say the 4th of July party I was hosting with my roommate would have been a solo mission for her the next day. So I hung up and called Michael and told him I would meet him at the pier. Only me, only this time I was lucky my flight wasn't departing until 5pm. So I drove 30min North to meet this kind soul. I believe in Karma, and I told Michael Karma will come back and treat him. I asked him how on earth he got a hold of my stepmom? He told me that he had tried Facebooking me but because I am labeled Beth A. Troupe and not Beth Troupe, he was unable to find me. So he then googled me and because I do not have a land line any longer, there was no luck. So his last resort was to pay $1.50. Yes, he actually paid money to a some website that displayed all "Beth" Troupes in the world. I know scary that there may be more then one of me! This guy went above and beyond and out of his way to show kindness and really save my day. For that I will be forever grateful....and I will try to be more responsible, but come on people I don't think I can change the fact that I would lose my head if it wasn't attached....I eventually made it to downtown DC, wishing I had more time I took the pictures I wanted. I realize people who live in the DC area are so lucky to be among history each day. I am amazed every time I drive through this city.
