So all of the ladies at the centre soon got to know me and recommended me to go to a small beach town called White Rock. It was eight minutes from my hotel which was two minutes from the centre. So Thursday and Friday I went down and walked the beach to the pier and on Friday I actually got out at 5pm just in time for dinner. I parked on top of the steepest hill ever and it was over a two-mile walk, but I've gotten my share of parking tickets in my life and wasn't going to risk it. And I can always use the exercise and the view, the walk home however was no fun.White Rock had cute little restaurants and shops but I was told wherever I go to get the Fish n' Chips. I went to this quaint little Irish place Slainte' By the Pier that if you are ever in White Rock, BC you must go to, Hey, don't say never! (www.slaintebythepier.ca/). This place was located directly across from the pier and I overlooked the ocean as I had the most amazing melt in your mouth halibut I have ever eaten and the Yam Fries weren't too bad. Which I washed down with a Beer Flight. The waitress put it in three half pint glasses the first go-round by accident. My win! Oh Followers do you all know what a flight is? And I'm not talking about Delta or US Air. I had this conversation with two friends as I sat and ate, both who had never heard of a beer flight. You know who you are; check out this site if you are still unfortunately unaware: http://www.beerflight.com/. All in all it was a perfect evening with live music, cobblestone streets, palm trees, water, and the most perfect weather with a breeze.
